The Whipple system also features a molded plastic plenum that distributes the air through the entire filter while keeping the inlet air temperature consistently lower than factory and other aftermarket bolt-on systems. The key to the unique design is simple, the air has a very straight, non-impeded direction to a very high-flow filter. This allows for uniform distribution throughout the filter and far greater air speeds throughout the system. The Whipple plenum actually increases flow so much, it outflows a system with NO FILTER. The high-density plastic inlet also protects your engine from inducting hot, power-robbing air. Under hood temps consistently exceed 150F and commonly go over 200F in hot summer weather. Most system utilize open-air filters that either partially seal while others are completely open to the power robbing under hood heat. What’s this mean?
